About Us

The Midwifery Model of Care

The Midwifery Model of Care is based on the fact that pregnancy, labor, and birth are normal, healthy life processes. This model gives women the option of a natural birth instead of an interventive and medicalized birth, and it offers a holistic approach to prenatal care and women’s health.

The Midwifery Model of Care includes:

  • Monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle;

  • Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support;

  • Minimizing technological interventions; and

  • Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention.

The application of this woman-centered model of care has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section.

Our Philosophy

At LCMS we believe that each pregnancy is unique and demands its own, tailor-made plan. Our practice focuses on the "whole" individual and puts an emphasis on nutrition counseling, body mechanics and exercise. With each client, we strive to provide continuous education and support thru evidence-based practices that will enhance their pregnancy and birth experience. This encourages mothers to make informed-choices that will impact not only the health of their current pregnancy, but their personal overall health and the health of their families thru the childbearing years and beyond!

We are here to offer a wide range of services throughout your pregnancy and after. We know how important it is for our parents-to-be to have a place they can call home for their entire prenatal journey.

We love what we do, and it shows!
